I have always been interested in film and film sound. But instead of touring a studio or trying to contact a composer, I decided to go to were everyone sees the movies: the theater. Mission Valley is the movie theater that is off of Avent Ferry Road near Central and Centenniel. I contacted a manager there, Christopher McGuire, and got him to show me the rooms with the projectors, platters and reels.
I was able to get a good amount of pictures, as well as two movie clips that show the path of the film through the machine from platter to platter. Later, I plan on getting an interview with him when he has more time in order to get some more information about the sound and whatnot.
